Help updating R4i 3DS

Recently rebought a 3DS and wanted to get my old R4 3DS card working with it. The version I have just says R4i 3DS on it, with the www.r4ids.cn link on the card but without the RTS logo on it. The card works fine when in a DSi or a DSL. However, it will not boot on a 3DS. I attempted to update the firmware in a DSL but the firmware updates all fail. I noticed my cards PCB layout does NOT look like the one on the red PCB towards the bottom of the r4ids.cn...

Been a long time since i came here, but just had a look around to see what the last update for the M3 DS Simply was, and I was surprised to find it not mentioned in the "Ultimate Flashcart Download Index" .

Can anyone offer their thoughts on what is best to give my DS lite a new lease of life for my daughter?

I read about putting "woodR4" firmware on it, is that still good advice?

Which flashcard do you suggest for Nintendo DS XL ver.1.4.5E. My second flashcard was blocked too, I need a flashcard which will not get easily blocked. BTW, what is needed to avoid them getting blocked ? Is there anything special to do? Thanks as from now.

Using R4i-SDHC without changing date?

is it possible to use the following R4i-SDHC card (see photo) without setting the date to somewhere before 2014? Seems like the card's firmware isn't supported since 2013 anymore and running a newer firmware yields an error that I need to buy a newer card.

On my DSi, I simply changed the date to make it work. Now I try to setup the card for usage on my N3DS XL with TWL Slot-1 Launcher...

Having issues backing up DS games

I got a DSTwo Plus recently and wanted to backup all of my old DS games in order to have them all on a single cart, but haven't gotten anything to work yet. I have an EZFlash 3in1 from a long time ago that I'm using to try and help with the backup.

I've currently tried Wooddumper Slot 2 and NDS Backup Tool 3in1. The NDS Backup Tool does not recognize the slot 2 card and closes instantly. Wooddumper appears to have the same problem, although I am not sure if I am reading the log messages...

It arrived today and I'm trying it on my 3DS (11.0.0-33)
I downloaded "WOOD R4 V1.64" from r4ids.cn and placed it on my microSD, and some DS games.
Problem: It's like it gets corrupted each time I run it, and I have to format my microSD. And when a game wants to write data or save on the "cartridge" it shows an error, "Unable to...

Transfer pokemon from gen 4-5 with flashcart

So im going about a loooong process to trade pokemon from gen 3 using my 3ds gpsp emulator, all the way to sun and moon using pksm. I can use drastic on my phone to migrate pokemon from gen 3 to 4, but i have no way of transferring 4 to 5. I have a legit white 2 cartridge, but platinum is on a flashcart. I know the legit way to transfer involves the 3ds directly reading pokemon from slot 1, so how could i go about doing this? Worst case scenario i use an emulator.

Hey guys. I just did something very stupid and now I need expert help. I started playing with my ds again after almost 3 years without touching it. I had this r4i3d 2012 flashcard working fine on my dsi 1.4.4. But I found out in another forum that it was possible to use it on 1.4.5 with the update 5.06 and kernel 1.50. So I did the upgrade and everything seemed fine.

It wasn't fine. The problem was my pokemon game started crashing consistently after 15min of playing. Then in some amazing...

In the last 3 years the only 3DS games i have played were Monster Hunter and Pokemon, which i both always buy retail.

I have an O3DS 4.3 with Gateway on Emunand 11.2 (no fastboot or any other gateway hax beside 4.3 menuhax to enter gateway mode), and with all the hassle about Gateway+Pokemon SUMO it's just not worth it for me anymore to stay on gateway. (CFW also isn't attractive to me, as I really don't need it for anything.)

Just formatting my system to get rid of the gateway isn't...

So the other day I found a really old R4i flashcart at home that my brothers and I never got to work. For the last few days I've tried using lots of similar firmwares/kernels (I don't really know the difference between those 2 words) cause I just can't find mine. I've tried everything and it still shows the classic red "menu?" error. This is the info you can see on the card's sticker thing:
